Since yesterday afternoon i have a new colleague who was a former colleague at antwerpes.

We all know flickr, the cool web2.0 photo-sharing tool. One of the most important tools among others is the possibility to define individual rights, whose of your readers are allowed to view which photos. You can set visibillity to public, private and only to user groups defined through you as family and/or friends.

That is quite nice but does not work if you choose to change your photo’s visibillity after the initial upload. The reason is that the flickr rss-feed includes the physical url to a published image without any account-query. For performance issues I suppose.

Now imagine the following: You upload a picture and after that decide “oh fuck, i’m naked on that pic and that should maybe not be visible to everybody”. Now there is me who aggregates your rss-feed and saves the physical urls to your photos. And after checking which of your pics are not any longer enclosed in your feed i just have to open them through the saved urls. Because they are supposedly much more interessting than your public pics ;)

Thanks to my buddy Christian Heindel who talked to me about that. His suggestion to fix this problem can be seen in this chat script which i saved last night.

Well, i had some very recovering holidays in turkey. and now work-reality caught me up once again. great. during the next days i’ll post some photos of the trip to flickr.

one tip: never ever fly with corendon airlines, if you don’t want the guy in the front row sitting on your knees and having the foot of the guy behind you almost up your ass. it was terrible.

however: enjoy the upcoming summer ;)

Morgen gehts los! Endlich! Eine Woche wohin auch immer. Mit Koffern zum Flughafen und:”Egal wohin, Hauptsache warm!” Und am 19. wieder zurück. Laptop, Uhr, Telefon und alles andere bleibt zu Hause. Nur Badehose und Adiletten. Los lässts sichs aushalten.
